Robbie Robertson (The Band) and Trent Reznor (NIN) collaborate on a new song coming out  on Robertson’s first record in 13 years.  How To Become Clairvoyant is due out in April 2011.  The song is called, “Madame X,” which is said to be an instrumental piece.  Along with Reznor’s help, Robertson also had the brilliance of Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Eric Clapton (Cream, Blind Faith) and Steve Winwood (Traffic, Blind Faith).  “The boys helped me out,” Robertson says.  Those who aren’t familiar with Robertson’s band, The Band, check out the documentary of their last performance at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco (1976). Directed by Martin Scorsese, it really is a GREAT watch.

Dispatch announced their reunion 2011 summer tour with 6 US dates.  One date in Chicago at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion on June 8th.  These guys are probably one of the best live bands around.  Having performed their last gig in 2007 and before that in 2004. Check out their live double album, Gut The Van. AWESOME! 2011 can only bring about some new possibilities for Dispatch and us fellow listeners. “If I could predict the future, I’d say that doing something like this every two or three years isn’t out of the question,” Chad Stokes told Relix Magazine via Jambands.com. “If something comes up that the three of us feel really psyched about, we can get our act together and do it … But that being said, I don’t see Dispatch as a regular thing.”  The band is offering free downloads of their entire studio album catalog to fans who help get the word out about the summer tour.  By following a few simple steps – including friending Dispatch on Facebook, following them on Twitter and sending five friends an email about the tour – fans will get a special code to enable the download of the band’s four studio albums.  Complete details are available at www.dispatchmusic.com.

Little Dragon will be at Lincoln Hall in Chicago on January 16th…. again. ” We shared the bus with Bobby Womack,” Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano says, “and [it was] a learning experience because we just absorbed so many words of wisdom.”  Negano talking about their recent co headlining tour with the Gorillaz.  Last years show at LH was a realization for the audience that Little Dragon is for real.  They have a unique sound and offer a decently priced ticket for you penny pinchers out there. They will most likely be playing songs from their self titled 2007 record, Little Dragon and 2009’s Machine Dreams. Check songs: “Twice” & “Blinking Pigs.” We should only be so lucky to hear some of their new material, possibly due out spring of 2011.
